The Northwest Supplement

The Northwest Supplement is the Northwest Region’s quarterly newsletter. The Supplement keeps you informed about national and regional events, as well as bringing you feature articles about health food retailing. Some of the recent issues have focused on topics such as effectively using third party literature, good manufacturing practices, GMOs, and the changing face of the industry.

The Northwest Supplement is free to NNFA members.

All of these benefits and more are free to you when you join NNFA. Where else can you spend so little and get so much in return? Your dues dollars will come right back to you through these exceptional programs. And don’t forget…a portion of your dues are tax deductible as a business expense.

Legislative Activity

As a member of the NNFA and our region, you will be able to add your voice to others in the northwest region who are active in protecting the legal/legislative interests of the nutritional foods industry nationally and particularly throughout Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Montana and Idaho. NNFA NW keeps you informed on issues so that you can get involved by meeting in person or writing to your legislators.

Having your store's name on the national membership roster is important, too, because "the greater our numbers are, the louder our voice speaks," when our national staff, lobbyists and attorneys are working on Capitol Hill.

HOW DO YOU BECOME A MEMBER?

Retail Stores

Retail stores become members by joining the National Nutritional Foods Association (NNFA). Upon acceptance in the National Association, retail stores are assigned to the appropriate regional association. In order to qualify as a retail store you must be primarily engaged in the sale of nutritional foods, supplements and related products and have a retail store front open to the general public. Membership dues are paid on an annual basis and are based on a sliding scale.

Suppliers

Suppliers may join the region directly as Affiliate Members. This membership is separate from membership in the National organization.

All companies who exhibit at the Northwest Show are given membership status for one year at no extra charge. Supplier members may vote ( one vote per company) on association business if the company has a full-time representative resideing within the region.

Associate Membership

Other individuals or companies that are in some way related to the natural/nutritional products industry may join as associate members. Those qualifying for associate membership are: physicians, nutritionists, researchers, consultants, educators, students, raw material suppliers, and others who may show a mutually supportive relationship to the trade.

We invite you to join our trade association, which has been working to support optimal health through nutrition since 1936. For more information on membership, call (360) 385-1186, FAX (360) 385-3200, e-mail Kathy Constantine, or write:
