NNFA Mission Statement

 

The NNFA is at the heart of a growing, vital industry committed to health, well-being, and a sustainable environment. Founded in 1936, NNFA promotes and protects the unique values and shared interests of retailers and suppliers in the nutritional foods and natural products industry.

NNFA unites a diverse membership, from the smallest health food store to the largest natural products supplier. We champion consumers’ freedom of choice in our marketplace. We strengthen and safeguard retailers and suppliers. We build strong markets to fuel industry growth. We act together with uncompromising integrity, and we encourage all to reach ever higher standards of quality.

We achieve our mission by:

Recruiting a diverse membership united by shared ethics and a common vision;
Fostering membership commitment, involvement, and mutual respect;
Providing a comprehensive range of business services and professional enhancements, including educational programs which promote successful competition in a dynamic marketplace;
Promoting and defending a favorable legal, legislative, and regulatory environment conducive to industry growth, free enterprise, and free speech;
Creating standards and procedures for self-regulation that ensure quality, safety, and integrity of foods, products, services, and labeling information;
Speaking for and leading the entire industry, while anticipating and responding to key issues affecting our members and consumers.
